How Do I Get to Catalina del Mar?
For those traveling from outside Puerto Rico, you can fly into San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. Catalina del Mar is about an hour's drive away. You can rent a car at the airport or schedule a town car transfer to Islote, Arecibo.
Do I Need a Passport to Travel to Puerto Rico?
Although a territory of the United States, Puerto Rico enjoys the benefits of being a State. As such, many Americans freely travel between the mainland and Puerto Rico without passports. Both English and Spanish are the official languages in Puerto Rico because it's a U.S. territory.

Can I Book Directly With You?
Yes! Book directly on our Book Now page — no platform fees, and you deal with Josefina personally. If you prefer, you can also book with us on Airbnb or Join A Join.
How Do Payments Work?
- 50% is due at booking.
- The remaining 50% is charged automatically 30 days before arrival.
- A refundable security hold is placed 2 days before arrival.
- Puerto Rico's 7% room tax is included in your total.
What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
- Full refund if you cancel 30 or more days before arrival.
- 50% refund if you cancel 14–29 days before arrival.
- No refund within 14 days of arrival.
- Free cancellation within 48 hours of booking (for stays booked at least 14 days ahead).
What If There Is a Hurricane?
If the National Hurricane Center issues a hurricane warning for Puerto Rico's north coast, or an evacuation is ordered, within 72 hours of your arrival or during your stay, you may move your stay to new dates within 12 months or receive a refund for the affected nights. We strongly recommend travel insurance, which you can add when you book.
How Many Guests Can Stay?
The villa sleeps up to 10 guests comfortably, with a maximum of 12 (an additional-guest fee applies above 10). Parties and events are only allowed with an approved event agreement — see Weddings & Events.
Is the Casita Included?
Our private casita (guest house) is reserved for wedding bookings and is included with every wedding. It is not part of standard vacation stays.
Can We Host a Wedding or Retreat?
Yes — starting March 2027 we welcome intimate weddings, retreats and celebrations. Tell us about your event and Josefina will reply within 24 hours.
What if I Need to Contact You During Our Stay?
Catalina del Mar's villa manager routinely checks in on the property and is available when needed. We are a text or phone call away at any time during your stay — WhatsApp 617-396-7071.
Are Pets Allowed?
Yes — Catalina del Mar is pet friendly. Up to 2 pets are welcome for a fee of $75 per pet. Please select your pets when booking so we can prepare accordingly. Pets are not allowed in the pool.
